In 2003 Steve Langham did his first vintage at Piggs Peake. Within a couple of years the winery had firmly established itself as one of this country’s leading boutique producers with wine journalists such as James Halliday and Franz Scheurer describing the wines as being among the best of the best Australia has to offer.
The wines are distinctly different, with a firm focus on being food friendly, innovative styles and huge reds. It’s not uncommon for visitors to the Cellar Door to be taken by winemaker Steve on a walk around the winery, trying barrels of wines in progress and enjoying the experience of spending time with and learning from the people responsible for whats in the glass.
Sadly, much of Piggs Peake production is being bought before it is bottled these days and in order to access the top wines you really need to go into the Lucky Swines allocation program in order to secure these great wines.
Otherwise, you will miss out!
