The last weekend of summer will see the launch of an exciting new event in the heart of the historic Hunter Valley village of Wollombi – the Wollombi Classic Film Festival.
Film buffs, or those just looking for a great reason for a weekend getaway, will be treated to 6 classic films at 2 stunning venues, including outdoors in the Grays Inn Garden and indoors at the 1845 built St Michael’s Church.
The festival program is diverse, spanning 40+ years of classic cinema and includes Australian classics Strictly Ballroom and Picnic at Hanging Rock plus 4 other cinematic gems comprising A Place in The Sun, Rebel Without a Cause, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold and Chinatown.
The festival opens with a garden cocktail party from 6:30pm Friday featuring live music, canapés and complimentary Noyce Brothers Wine till 8pm, and then Strictly Ballroom to end the night in a blaze of color.There will be a licensed bar on site selling local wine and craft beers.
